Our Little Snuggle Bear

We really need to downsize our stuffed animal collection. But we couldn't help adding our little Koala to the mix!

We call him a Koala because if he is near your arm or leg he will wrap his arms and legs around you and just hang on!

Definately a keeper. Who could resist a smile like that!

I tried his Halloween hat on him to see if he will even wear it, he was okay for a minute but then didn't like it, so we'll see. He sure looks cute in it though. (he's going to be a skunk)

Baby Contest

We entered Ezekiel in a baby contest for our city days. He won a pizza, but only as a door prize. Well he didn't win the baby contest. Obviously it wasn't because he wasn't the cutest. Apparently there was a theme and some people had elaborate props to match. His picture sure turned out cute though.

He is admiring his good work and the prize he won!

What a cute, happy, little guy!
That night we took him to his first firework show. He fell asleep on the way over (a block away), despite the shaking, tapping, and loud noises he slept through the fireworks and woke up 5 minutes after the finale. Silly Boy!

At the fair Aug. 16

We took Ezekiel to the fair. We showed him all the animals and painted a caterpillar on his arm. He didn't care about any of it. He thought the cake walk was kind of fun, he even won a dozen donuts.

The most amusing part to him was the balloon!

Zeke's Surgery

Another surprise we had in August was finding a large lump on Ezekiel. It turned out to be a tumor lined cyst. A week later our poor little baby was strapped down with IV's and in surgery. He did really well with surgery and recovery. Thank goodness the tumor was benign.

Here he is right before surgery. These are the pajamas they wanted him to wear for it. He was fascinated by the paper on the table. Poor little guy didn't know what was coming. :(

This is right after he woke up from surgery. Still groggy and hooked up to the IV's. He had to eat before we could go home.

Here he is resting after surgery. It is so cute how he sleeps on his side now.

Our Surprise

After our vacation in Yellowstone we had a crazy week. To start things off we found out that we are pregnant again! We got an ultrasound and everything looks good. The heartbeat was 147.

Mountain fire behind our house

On the 1st of August a fire started on the mountain behind our house and grew very rapidly into a large fire that had hundreds of firefighters battling it. All of the homes behind us were evacuated and some others on our street just east of us were evacuated as well.
The flames in this picture were huge. What looks like shrubs in front of the flame are actually large trees. the fire started friday after noon and burned for several days.

First thing sunday morning we were surprisingly waken up by the sound of a huge helicopter that sounded like it was going to land on the house so I looked out the window and saw the helicopter sucking up water through a hose from the resevior behind our house.

We were even able to get the pilot to wave for the camera.

Zeke's first Haircut

We decided to give Ezekiel his first haircut this past sunday. Although he he was so cute with his messy uneven hairdo, it was time to even it all out. Here are the before, during, and after pictures.
